Marche Clarke, Director of Development for Guilford County Homeownership Center will attend the President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability forum on November 30, 2010 at the U.S. Department of Treasury, Washington, D.C.
President Obama signed an Executive Order (13530) on January 29, 2010 creating the Presidnet's Advisory Council on Financial Capability " to assist the American people in understanding financial matters and making infomred financial decisions, and thereby contribute to financial stability".
"The council is comprised of non-govermental representatives with relevant backgrounds, such as financial services, consumer protection, financial access, and education. It wiil suggest ways to coordinate and maximize the effectiveness of existing private and public sector effforts and identify new appraoches to increase financial capability through financial education and financial access."
GCHC, whose slogan is "Improving Financial Literacy one family at a time" is a proponent of teaching the citizens of Guilford County money management skills and to assist with changing spending habits that will help them live within their means and avoid repeating the financial disasters encountered during this economic downturn.
